We are a local, family-owned business, started by Allan Masters over 60 years ago. From our humble beginnings as “Hornsby Washing Machine and Electric” operating from a local shop, David (Allan’s son) and his team have grown the business to be the most trusted provider of quality electrical solutions in Hornsby, the North Shore and surrounds.

Hornsby Electric is run by David Masters and Cassandra Macqueen. Together, they have hand-picked an awesome team of local, experienced electricians and dedicated office team, who truly reflect the company values of excellence and integrity.

David Masters

Owner Director

David is the owner and director of Hornsby Electric, proudly providing electrical solutions to homes and businesses in the local area and surrounds for more than 25 years. Being a family business David took over ownership of Hornsby Electric from his father Allan in 1998. Having grown up in the Hornsby area and is still living in Mount Colah, he is a well-respected electrician in the local area and a strong supporter of the local community.

David is a qualified electrician and level 2 accredited electrician with a fleet of trucks and a cherry picker, allowing him and his team to not only provide general electrical services but also undertake authorised level 2 electrical services working on the Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy distribution networks.

Above all else, David values honesty and integrity and ensures that this is the governing principle of the way he conducts his business and the people who are part of his team.

In his spare time, David loves fishing in Cowan Creek and the Hawkesbury River, competing in fishing competitions far and wide.

Cassandra is the heart and soul of Hornsby Electric, managing everything in the office and keeping the team in ship shape. Cassandra has a strong drive and passion to help others, often going above and beyond to help customers with electrical issues and queries. If you have an electrical emergency, Cassandra will be the one to ensure one of the team can get to you the same day to fix it. Before joining Hornsby Electric, Cassandra was a valued paramedic for NSW Ambulance, which was ideal for her natural compassion and ability to stay calm under pressure, she has spent the last 16 years as the office manager for Hornsby Electric.

In her spare time, Cas loves cuddling her cats, snow skiing, and cooking and has recently developed a passion for native gardening, fostering a keen interest in providing habitat for our area’s local frogs, bees, and native birdlife.

Yesterday, Jacob from Hornsby Electric replaced all our downlights (16) in familyroom/kitchen. The 10 year old set we had were starting to flicker intermittently and it was time for a technology upgrade. Jacob was quick, knowledgeable, neat and a very engaging young man who did the job efficiently to our entire satisfaction, and he was a pleasure to have in the house. Hands down the best electricians and office staff I have ever dealt with. After being told by two other electricians the job couldn't be done, James and Mason were up for the challenge and exceeded my expectations by managing to conceal all the cabling even though I didn't think it would be possible. They showed excellent work ethic, were patient with answering my questions, had meticulous attention to detail in ensuring all my requirements were met and thoroughly cleaned up once the job was done.
